Utility Partners of America (UPA) installs and services electric, gas and water meters for U.S. utilities. Founded in 1997 and part of System One since 2009, we’re based in Greer, South Carolina.
By UPA’s count, its crews installed 1.30 million of the 1.36 million meters and gas modules in LG&E and KU’s Kentucky program between 2022 and 2025, and the Kentucky Public Service Commission confirms the program total.
We’re also National Grid’s installation vendor in Massachusetts and its primary installation contractor in upstate New York.
Each program says whose number it is. We don’t add them up into a company-wide total.
By UPA’s count, its crews installed 1,298,073 electric meters and gas modules for LG&E and KU from September 2022 to December 2025, working with Landis+Gyr.

UPA is the primary installation contractor on the National Grid upstate New York program. Across all installers, the program had installed 1,637,031 electric meters and gas modules by April 30, 2026, according to National Grid’s May 2026 report to the New York Department of Public Service. UPA’s share of that total hasn’t been published.

UPA is an installation vendor on the National Grid Massachusetts program. Across all installers, the program had installed more than 500,000 electric meters by April 23, 2026, according to National Grid. UPA’s share of that total hasn’t been published.

By UPA’s count, its crews installed about 191,000 Itron Riva electric meters for Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) during the meter change-out through March 2026.
