City of Palo Alto Utilities records name UPA as Sensus’s installation subcontractor for its electric, gas and water AMI program.

Electric meters, gas and water radios

The city’s 2021 staff report and its January 2024 customer notice describe UPA’s installation role. The program replaces electric meters and fits gas and water meters with AMI radios.

The city reports progress for the program as a whole, not by contractor. See multi-commodity AMI installation.

Where things stand

The program replaces electric meters and adds AMI radios to gas and water meters. The city hasn’t published UPA’s share of the work.
